Senior Design Staff
Matt Leary, President, Founder, and Senior PCB Designer
Matt created Newgrange Design in October 1996 with a goal of providing great customer service in a field that allows for tremendous opportunity to contribute to the development of technology on a variety of different fronts. Matt worked as an instructor for Cadence (then OrCAD) PCB Systems Division traveling throughout the US and Canada, instructing classes on the latest PCB design software and techniques. Matt graduated with an undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Wisconsin in 1996. Matt’s software expertise include PADS, Allegro, OrCAD Layout, Altium, OrCAD Capture, and OrCAD CIS.
Myev Bodenhofer, Senior Technical Advisor
Myev has over 15 years of design and test experience in medical devices and in the avionics industry. She heads up our engineering services group, performs signal integrity analysis, and consults on complex PCB Designs where an extra set of experienced eyes could help. Her particular areas of expertise include: system architecture design, low-level analog design, design of test equipment, EMC and environmental testing, FMEA and risk analysis. She holds both a Masters in Electrical Engineering and an undergraduate degree in Physics from MIT. Myev has worked in Class III medical device development, and is experienced in working under ISO 13485 and the ISO 9000 family of standards.
Charles Furciniti, Principal Electrical Engineer
Charles has over 25 years of hardware engineering experience, and is Newgrange Design’s digital hardware design expert. Charles began his career at Sanders Associates (Lockheed Martin) as an electrical engineer, and went on to lead various research and development teams, mainly focusing on novel hardware implementations of signal processing applications. He has designed modules for modems, satellite base stations, ATM switch equipment, fiber-optic telecommunications, hardware accelerated image processing and software defined radios. Charles holds both a Masters and Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.
John Marcin, Senior PCB Designer
John got his start in electronics in the 60s as a technician at National Radio Company and got his start in PCB Design in the 70s. He worked at various companies such as Raytheon, Datacube and Analogic before landing a lengthy stint at Analog Devices. His experience and natural ability make him one of the finest PCB designers in the field. Some of his particular strengths include low level analog signal design, and power supply designs. His software expertise includes PADS, PCAD, Allegro, Altium, OrCAD Capture, DxDesigner, and PADsLogic.
Kristen Aguiar, PCB Designer
Kristen began working at Newgrange Design in 2006, and has proven to be a highly-valued PCB Designer. She has completed dozens of RF designs as well as several blind and buried via designs. She is also in charge of our database management development group (using both OrCAD CIS and Altium). She graduated from Northeastern University, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Mathematics. Her software expertise include PADS, Altium, OrCAD Layout, OrCAD Capture, and OrCAD CIS.
